Nestled in the rolling terrain of the Berkshires, the Stone Hill Center isn't just a gallery — it's an instrument for observing nature. Tadao Ando, the architectural legend, used his signature smooth concrete to create powerful, solid geometric forms that feel firmly grounded.
But concrete is inherently heavy and enclosed. The real challenge was: How do you break down that solid barrier? Our goal was simple: not just to house the artwork in isolation, but to let the interior sanctuary connect seamlessly with the wild, external woodland landscape, ensuring that the changing seasons become the most dynamic part of the exhibition.

To fulfill Ando's pursuit of "emptiness" and abundant light, the window system had to achieve absolute precision. This project perfectly illustrates the UltraSlim design philosophy:

The Stone Hill Center proves that the best window technology is the kind you don't even notice is there.
As visitors move through the galleries, the transition between indoors and outdoors is effortless. Light, filtered through the trees and the massive glass panes, continually shifts and transforms the texture of the concrete. It’s a peaceful, authentic integration — a reconciliation between the built world and the natural world—made possible only by UltraSlim's extreme clarity, precision, and the courage to make the frame disappear.
